Birth, Baby! Academy Trained Birth Doulas!
In-Person Training Workshops
During the 3-day in-person training workshop, you will receive a full and comprehensive birth doula training that gives you tools and knowledge to function as a doula in a real-life setting. Following the workshop, you will receive instructions on how to complete your birth doula certification portfolio as well as access to the online, self-paced program so you can revisit the material any time you need a refresher. Once the portfolio is submitted, the trainer will review it. When assessment has been completed and approved, you will receive your official birth doula certificate and have the title “Birth, Baby! Academy Certified Birth Doula”.

Online, Self-Paced Course
In this self-paced course, participants will receive a full and comprehensive birth doula training. They will receive the tools and knowledge to function as doulas in a real-life setting. Participants will receive instructions on how to complete their birth doula certification portfolio.
Once the course is complete and the portfolio is submitted, the trainer will review it. When assessment has been completed and approved, participants will receive their official birth doula certificate and have the title “Birth, Baby! Academy Certified Birth Doula”.
Investment: $750.00 (payment plans are available when registering)
Location: Wherever you are!
Requirements for Certification
- Complete the 3-day workshop OR the online self-paced program
- Assignments directly related to the training
- Meet with 3 other birth doulas AND 3 other perinatal professionals
- Complete the required reading
- Attend a childbirth education class (recommendations will be made, but this is your choice)
- Complete Lactation Management for Doulas and Birth Workers from LER
- Outline your business plan/strategy
- Create a resource list of local birth professionals for prospective clients
- Complete 3 certifying births using Pathway 1 or Pathway 2 (outlined below)
- Complete and submit your portfolio within 2 years of training
More details will be given when you receive your certification packet after registration. You will have our support through this process for any questions you come up with along the way. This list of requirements is not meant to be intimidating. These requirements are to ensure you’re entering into doula work as prepared as you can be.
